In anticipating of the upcoming Design Triennial at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, which, at this time, presents radical solutions about the future of our planet, I was thrilled and inspired by the new architectural scheme, called Oceanix City, unveiled this week by BIG. This concept floating city, designed for a population of 10,000, is composed or islands, where each includes a community framework for living, such as water baths, markets, and cultural hubs. It is intended for tropical and sub-tropical regions, which are most at risk of floods.
