In the new selling exhibition at Sotheby’s Hong Kong, entitled ‘Masters of Design,’ the masters are defined as those who had come to shape French design in the years following WWII. Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand were not only active in the rebuilding of France and its colonies, and in substantiating the Modern Movement in postwar France, but have also become the hottest names in the international marketplace. As the furniture by those masters is particularly sought after by collectors of contemporary art, this event is a part of the Contemporary Art program of the spring season.
