Congratulations, Joseph Walsh for receiving the prestigious Cultural Award of the American Irish Historical Society. It will be awarded in the upcoming 120th Annual Gold Medal Dinner, which will be held this time at the 583 Park Avenue. As a long-time admirer of Walsh, I was honored this year to curate and moderate the event ‘Joseph Walsh: Crafting the Contemporary,’ at the New York School of Interior Design, which was sponsored by the Society. An Irish master maker and furniture designer of an international acclaim, has formulated a unique and personal language based on the art of bending and laminating ash and other indigenous timber, reflecting his heritage; for that and for his accomplished career, Walsh will receive the Gold Medal Award. Tickets are available. Above are the new pieces which will be presented by Sarah Myerscough at The Salon Art + Design, open on November 10th at the Park Avenue Armory.
