I am thrilled to share my most exciting news for 2019, a new collaboration. My flag program Collecting Design: History, Collections, Highlights, the only comprehensive program devoted to the territory of collectible modern and contemporary design will be moving to the AIA/Center for Architecture in the spring of 2019, and registration is open. The program, regularly attended by architects, interior designers, design editor/bloggers/writers, auction specialists, and art collectors, is taking place twice a year. In the upcoming spring season, I will be hosting the flowing experts to share their projects, exhibitions, and expertise: interior designer Kelly Behun on the key role of collectible furniture in the high-brow 21st-century interior; Met’s Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Design Christian Larsen on mid-century Brazilian design; Christina Miller on the role and politics of 1st Dibs in the world of collectible design; Felix Burrichter on his exhibition of contemporary design at Friedman Benda; Larry Weinberg on the legacy of the Bauhaus which celebrates 100 in 2019; Zesty Meyers on how to collect contemporary design. For any questions, please email me.
