New Year, and registration to the spring edition of my program Collecting Design: History, Collections, Highlights at the New York School of Interior Design is open now. I am looking forward to an exciting season, full of fresh, never visited before material, which corresponds and highlights one of the most dynamic, influential territories in the international marketplace. Collecting design has long become a territory that stands at the forefront of style and taste, and while initially was fueled by the fine art market, it has since emerged as a discipline in its own right. This season, I will host extraordinary friends and colleagues, all world-renowned experts in the world of collectible design, who will share their passion, knowledge, connoisseurship, and the stories behind the scenes. Richard Wright, founder of Wright Auctions in Chicago; Kim Hostler, co-founder of Hostler Burrows; design and architecture curator Donald Albrecht; Evan Snyderman, co-founder of R & Company; curator-scholar-collector Dr. Deborah Goldberg; and Suzanne Demisch, co-founder of Demisch Danant. In addition to classes taking place at NYSID, we will be visiting design fair, and NYC-based restoration center, where we will learn about the process behind authenticating 20th-century design. This program is supported by Cultured Magazine and DeTnk. To register, click here.
