Design educator and historian Daniella Ohad presents a unique online course exploring the foundation of modern design history. Part I is a 5-session course provides an overview mid-century design, one of the most exciting periods in design and architectural history. Each talk in the series will be devoted to one of the five geographical centers in the production of modern design – The US, France, Italy, Brazil, Scandinavia, and will explore a variety of themes including furniture, interiors, architecture, fashion cars, and objects. Students will develop an understanding of the history of design and its visual vocabulary. Registration is open.

About the Instructor
Daniella Ohad received her Ph.D. from Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts, Design and Culture. She lectures and publishes widely on design history, theory, and the decorative arts. She has taught at Parsons the New School for Design, Pratt Institute, and Bard College. She is a speaker on topics in design, collecting, and taste worldwide.
