Bauhaus 100. In celebrating the 100th anniversary for the founding of the Bauhaus, I have devoted an episode to the famed and influential design school and its legacy. It was founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius by merging two existing schools in Weimar Germany, and closed down just 14 years later when the Nazis came to power. It has since become a symbol of the freedom of the arts, and although short lived, its influence has been far-reaching, extending into the ways we live, create, think, and teach to this day. Spring Dialogues was made possible by Rago Auctions.
