The program ‘Collecting Design: History, Collections, Highlights,’ the first comprehensive program dedicated to the topic, comes to explore this fascinating territory by examining material with a strong presence in the marketplace. In the six-session program, themes, periods, and styles are being investigated and analyzed by experts and by visits to an auction house and to a design fair. Through dialogues with dealers, critics, collectors, curators, designers, and writers we examine exhibitions, publications, auction records, relevant connoisseurship, major design fairs, and the stories behind the scenes. The program comes to provide unique design experience and to bring the audience to the forefront of the world of design.
