I am pleased and honored, to announce the upcoming program: “Sebastián Errazuriz: Monologues in the Artist’s Studio, A screening and lecture/artist talk,” which I will moderate on November 1st, at the New York School of Interior Design. With his own conceptual, comprehensive, and genuine body of work, Chilean-born, Brooklyn-based artist/designer Sebastian Errazuriz has come to exemplify the new designer of our age, capturing the era with provocative, daring, yet beautiful and sophisticated objects. Design and art, to him come to express the richness of his inner world, and the complexity of the world around him. Errazuriz’s prominent place in the world of collectible design, soon to be exhibited by London-based David Gill Gallery, is due to the most exquisite sense of beauty and aesthetic sensibility that he possesses; under his hands, even the most difficult tough realities and political instabilities are presented in a form of sensual beauty. He crosses boundaries between art, photography, design, architecture, and fashion in the most natural, instinctive, spontaneous way, while at the same time, demonstrates a deep understanding of the sensitive dialogue between art and the marketplace. A screening of the new documentary ‘Sebastián Errazuriz: Monologues in the Artist’s Studio,’ by Palu Abadia, recipient of the category of Best documentary on Architecture and Design Master of Art Film Festival & Award of Merit in Docs without Borders Film Festival, will be followed by a dialogue, with Sebastian. Tickets are available now.
