My flag program Collecting Design is moving to its new home in the spring of 2019 at the Center of Architecture/AIA. It comes to educate those who care for taste and design and to reveal the world of collectible modern and contemporary design. Lectures are accompanied by conversations with world leading experts, curators, collectors, dealers, and scholars. For the Spring 2019 season I will host Larry Weinberg on the 100th anniversary of the legendary Bauhaus and the market for Bauhaus material; Kelly Behun on the curated interior; Zesty Meyers on the contemporary design program of R & Company, the gallery he co-founded with Evan Snyderman; Felix Burrichter on a new design movement that in recent years has come to dominate the collectible design world, called Mental Furniture; Christina Miller on the behind-the-scenes of 1st Dibs, the company which have come to transform the way people buy design; Christian Larsen, design curator at the Met, on Brazilian mid-century design; and Robert Kaplan on the allure of American Arts and Crafts. Registration is open now.
